Romweber Flats Residents Save Money with New Medicaid Program

Assisted Living at Romweber Flats is now accepting Medicaid waivers as an optional service provided toits residents in their downtown Batesville location. This unique program can save participants thousands of dollars a year when compared to traditional skilled nursing and other assisted living services. Typical Medicaid residents in skilled nursing homes can only keep a small personal allowance per month and thebremainder of their monthly income must then go towards their room and board. In addition, Medicaid residents in skilled nursing homes may be required to share a room with another resident.
Assisted Living at Romweber Flats allows residents to maintain their independence and save up to hundreds of dollars a month due to the unique combination of affordable housing provided and the use
of the Medicaid waiver program. In the new program at Romweber, residents pay their rent and the Medicaid waiver pays for the assisted living service.
Assisted Living at Romweber Flats is operated by Nursing Care Management, an operator founded in 1984 that currently owns and operates eight skilled nursing facilities in Ohio and West Virginia. Local administrator Dennis Pinkerton commented “I am delighted to bring this affordable option to residents enabling them to regain their independence in a full size apartment and actually increase their disposable income. It is a real win/win for the Medicaid Program and our residents. The cost of delivery of this program is less to Medicaid and the residents get to keep more of their money.”
